Inside PROXAUT, a new fleet of autonomous vehicles is preparing to enter service at a major company in Tuscany that produces coffee and soluble powders for hot and cold beverages.
 These are **LGVs (Laser Guided Vehicles)** — vehicles that use laser guidance technology, a well-established system offering:

- maximum **route flexibility**,
- high **driving precision**,
- strong **reliability**,
- and complete **safety** in interaction with the environment and operators.

 But how does a laser-guided fleet move in perfect coordination, avoiding collisions and delays?
 We asked **Luca Baraldi**, Head of the Software Department at PROXAUT:

 “When multiple AGVs operate in the same environment, the supervision system acts as the central brain orchestrating all movements. Its role is twofold: to optimize missions and ensure overall safety.
 Each mission is evaluated in real time based on parameters such as distance from the starting point, battery level, and ongoing activities, to prevent inefficiencies and optimize resources.”

 When asked about safety, Baraldi adds:

 “Safety is guaranteed by several layers of control:

- **Accurate navigation and positioning**: each AGV knows its position with a margin of error of just a few millimeters;
- **Traffic management and priorities**: the central control system assigns right-of-way and manages any potential path conflicts;
- **Onboard safety sensors**: each vehicle immediately stops if a hazard is detected.”

 With new challenges and projects coming in 2025, PROXAUT plans to further strengthen its **Software Department**, adding new talent to support Luca Baraldi and his team.
